Welcome to the World, August! November 13, 2008

Holy moly! My dear friend Alysia the Literacy Goddess has given birth to a 9 lb. 13 oz. baby boy. 9/13 is a feat for any woman but Alysia is a mere 4′10″ tall. What in the world was Mother Nature thinking? I got this in a picture text around midnight last night. August Morgan, you officially conclude the baby boom of 2008. We’re so glad you’re finally here!

My Favorite Thing October 3, 2008

I get upset about how little I can accomplish in a day since Henry was born. But I don’t want to give up moments like this. I know this is fleeting, these moments when he takes his afternoon nap on my chest. There’s no feeling in the world that can compare to it. I didn’t know it until he came into my life, this is what I was born to do.
